About Unchosen Film Competition 2017

Do you think films can change the world?

At Unchosen, we know they can.

Unchosen use short films to tell people about Modern slavery in the UK.

We’re delighted to say that our new Modern Slavery Short Film Competition is open now!

This year’s competition is broader and more inclusive than our previous competitions. We’re still looking for great films about modern slavery, but this year we’re asking ANYONE who has made a film about modern slavery in the last three years to enter our competition.

In previous years, we’ve had themes and we’ve asked you to base your film on one of our real-life case studies. But you’ve told us that this was creatively restrictive. So this year, we’re opening up our prestigious Unchosen Modern Slavery Short Film Competition to ANY FILM completed since August 2014 and which is less than 20 minutes long.

If you think film really can change things, and you’re a filmmaker with a vision, then enter the Unchosen Modern Slavery Short Film Competition. Find out how to enter HERE.

  • > This is a unique chance to make a difference with your film, and help end modern slavery in the UK.
  • > All shortlisted filmmakers will be invited to our high-profile Film Awards Evening in Feb/March 2018.
  • > We regularly have our shortlisted films shown at prestigious international Short Film festivals and if you’re a winner we’ll try to promote your film internationally.
  • > The winning films will be used in all our work around modern slavery from February 2018 onwards, telling the general public, frontline workers, and those vulnerable to exploitation about modern slavery in the UK.

The winning films will receive cash prizes and a glittering glass award – and you get to change the world…
